Q&A - deadline extended
I've heard from a few of you that you're having a hard time coming up with questions, so I'm extending the deadline for questions indefinitely.
I won't stop collecting questions. If and when I reach enough questions to make a decent size article, I'll post it. When I have more for another, I'll post that then too. Be sure to bookmark this blog or subscribe to the RSS feed to watch for the answers.
Here's a peek at Bren's answer to a question from
Ana, (Jacksonville, FL). You'll have to wait for the full interview to see it all, so get those questions in today!
Have fun with it, ask anything, even if you think it was already answered in the book, or will be in the upcoming
Turn for Home. As you come up with questions for Bren, Cass, or anyone else in the
Turning Point universe,
contact me.
I also soon should have news about the sequel
Turn for Home, so keep watching this space.

Interviewing Characters
If you had twenty minutes with Brenna, Cassidy, or anyone from
"Turning Point" and the upcoming "Turn for Home", what questions would you ask them?
I'll take your top 10-20 questions, "interview" the character(s), and write out their answers, and post them to the "ad" site, my website, and here on the mailing list. Don't worry if more than one person asks the same question. That just means it's a very popular question, and I'll definitely be sure to answer it. Make sure you indicate which character should be asked the question if it's not obvious. I'll do separate interviews for each character requested.
I'll format the articles like those celebrity interviews in things like "Time" magazine ("20 Questions for..."), or the Parade's Sunday supplement "In Step With..." and include your handle and city/state/country below the question just like in those articles, so please sign your questions with that information.
I'll give this one week. You have until September 6, 2008 to post your questions in the Comments to this blog. I'll write the response "article" and have it up by September 13 here on my website and on my mailing list.

Meeting with Friends
Going to GCLS in Phoenix was a whirlwind weekend of enormous fun. The awards ceremony was great, but the BEST time was meeting Phoenix local fans whom I have communicated with by email and on J7 boards for several years now. The photo below is (from left) Maii-Fenz, Solise, Lara (me), MsTrixie, and my hubby John is in the back. We had a fantastic time as we discussed all things great and small. It's such a wonderful thing to meet people I've only known by name, to put faces to those names, and hear their voices. Thank you, ladies, all for all your wonderful words, and the lovely discussion.
Other pictures.

Before we actually leave Phoenix tomorrow (at 11 pm MST!) we're taking in a trail ride tour organized by the resort's equestrian center. My hubby's birthday present to me.
We're supposed to be home sometime midday Tuesday. If all goes well. If it goes like coming out here though, we may just die of frustration. Rain in Atlanta delayed our leaving Jacksonville, FL on Thursday afternoon for two hours. While we were on the ground (already packed into the plane) we had to wait another hour and a half while the airport in Atlanta was CLOSED. When they reopened, we finally took off, landing in Atlanta about one hour later. So now it's 9 pm, and we should have been in Phoenix about now. But no, our connecting flight Atlanta to Phoenix had already left an hour earlier. We were unsuccessful making standby for a flight that was delayed, and delayed, but finally took off at 12:15 AM, Friday morning. Given a voucher, we went to an Atlanta hotel with NO amenities with confirmed seats on an 11:28 AM flight Friday morning. So as not to lose our reservations in Phoenix I got on the cell phone to the resort and arranged for our third party roommate to claim the reservation and get in to the room. A restless eight hours later, we were back at the airport waiting to board that flight. Finally we arrived in Phoenix at 1 PM Friday afternoon MST time. Our luggage had arrived on the standby flight the night before! Actually AHEAD of us!
So I'll post again when I reach Orlando. Here's hoping it's not another 36 hours fiasco.

Barnes & Noble signing success!
What an over-the-top exciting day! Saturday was just kick-ass all around. I don't think I really ever stopped talking. Everyone was great at Barnes & Noble. Huge thanks to LeAnne, the Community Relations Manager, for setting up this great time!

A friend, Sue, came over from Clearwater and we covered so much ground in conversation... all told about 6 hours together. Wonderful! Wonderful! No words to express how great Sue is. (these are all her pictures!) Thank you, Sue!

There were 15 other local authors there. Among them was
Darlyn Finch, a recent author-in-residence at the Jack Kerouac house (a grant).

and a few local ladies stopped by to say hey, Linda Anderson and Kyla Tomlin from Orlando-local
LGBT films group.

You should check out Linda's work,
Atlastfilms, and Kyla's
"Katie and Casey" series on LogoOnline.
More pictures are in my
email group.

Gainesville Great Time
What a great time those gals in Gainesville have! I'm going to have to get back there and do it again. Next Saturday night they have a Spoken Word event, with a group of women who call themselves "Sister Spit" from California who have been traveling the country. For all the information, check out
www.mamaraga.com or
www.wildirisbooks.comThe variety show was a smashing success. Some incredible acts, and tons of laughs. Absolutely making my night with their enthusiasm, two women bought "Turning Point", both wanting autographs. Aly also had her partner snap a picture of her standing with me. Sorry, I didn't get a copy. Maybe next time.
Don't forget, you can support a Community bookstore and
buy "Turning Point" direct from Wild Iris Books in Gainesville.
