"Swing!" sale
A bit of different news...
I've made another short story sale. I have had a story selected for inclusion in an anthology titled
"Swing!" edited by bisexual author
Jolie du Pre, and to be released through
Logical-Lust.
My short story,
"Premises" centers around Jan, a newly self-identified bisexual woman, and her husband Chris, who visit an on-premises swing club and meet up with another couple: Kay and Tim. Swapping and sharing ensues, focused on Jan's experience with Kay in particular.
This is my first published piece which is not lesbian in nature. Instead it features bisexual women.
Swinging, for those unaware, is a partner swapping and sharing lifestyle, often centered in clubs which cater to this specifically. There are many books which discuss the psychology of swinging and swingers, and there are many myths about it as well. The lifestyle is independent of sexual preference. There are heterosexuals, bisexual men and women, gays and lesbians in the lifestyle. All configurations of
sexual play can be found. But bottom line it is consensual for all parties.
I will be posting an excerpt from my story "Premises" on my website with links to more information about when and where this collection, which includes works from some of today's best selling erotica authors, will be available.

Book Discussion Blog

My local paper,
The Orlando Sentinel, has a blog about books,
Word Count Books Blog nicknamed
Shakespeare's Coffee.
(When you get the feed confirmation, you'll see what I mean.) Yesterday's post asked if book clubs should read genre books. I commented (though they haven't approved it yet) EVERYTHING is genre, and if you're snobbish enough to overlook it, basically you're missing out on some fantastic "not just for entertainment" literature.
Pop over there yourself and sound off, if you want. Bookmark it, or pop it in your Feed Reader, and be back often. I know I will.

On a personal note, so many of you have told me that
Turning Point affected you as "much more than a typical lesbian romance". And I love you for it.

slight reorganization
Reorganizing a bit, I now have excerpts for the beginnings of short stories available in a couple anthologies, with links to obtaining the full collections. They are
"Study Buddies" which is in the "Read These Lips" anthology (2007) edited by Evecho and Linda Lorenzo, and
"A Penny For Your Thoughts" which is in the "Telltale Kisses" anthology (2006) edited by Stephanie Solomon-Lopez.

a couple new stories
In Janeway/Seven fanfic, I had a small brainstorm, and have been writing
"Aislin".
I also recently contributed a new original short story, "Study Buddies", to the premier issue of the lesbian zine
"Read These Lips" (right-click to save a PDF copy) and go to
ReadTheseLips.com to read more about the contributors and editors. Lots of wonderful authors contributed to this issue, Reese Szymanski, Ali Vali, Renee Strider, Trish Shields, and many, many more (95 pages!)

Azel and PD are winners!
Anne Azel's "Gold Mountain" (PD Publishing, 2006) won in the General Fiction category at Saturday night's GCLS Awards! Since Anne could not travel, Barb and Linda passed along her acceptance speech to me which I gladly read on her behalf. Way to go, Anne!

I'm back... I think
Please consider rejoining the discussion group at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/lzfiction2/General Memberships are no longer pre-approved. I have taken a little time ahead to set up some password protected areas that will require approval, but only if you want to see those special things. You'll also now find the Calendar is in use, and the Links and Albums have been streamlined. If you have additions, or see something missing, be sure to post to the group when you've joined and let me know.
Since I had to start from scratch, I figured I might spend a little time and organize a little better for this second go-round.
I hope to see you all soon. I will (re) start posting the chapters of "Turn for Home" I had started before all this crash happened on Sunday night, May 13.
