WPRK interview

I had a total blast today with Mike (pictured) and Sherry on "Gay Orlando Talk" WPRK radio 91.5 FM (Rollins College, Winter Park, FL)! In the first segment I had a chance to talk a little about my own work, and then we talked about the Broward County Library's Over the Rainbow GLBT Bookfest & Expo. We get chatty on all sorts of topics, and Sherry makes me laugh enough at one point I forgot what I was saying and gave an incorrect URL. The correct URL for Starcrossed Productions, a GLBT book online sales point is http://www.scp-inc.biz/.

However, this being my first radio interview, I don't think it was too bad. If you're interested, give a listen here (runtime: 12 min; file size: 12 MB). Please right-click and save-as)

The quality is such as it is because I slapped a digital voice recorder down on the middle of the broadcast table. It worked out pretty well, so my plan is to do the same with my panels at the Broward County Library event.

Interviewing Characters

If you had twenty minutes with Brenna, Cassidy, or anyone from "Turning Point" and the upcoming "Turn for Home", what questions would you ask them?

I'll take your top 10-20 questions, "interview" the character(s), and write out their answers, and post them to the "ad" site, my website, and here on the mailing list. Don't worry if more than one person asks the same question. That just means it's a very popular question, and I'll definitely be sure to answer it. Make sure you indicate which character should be asked the question if it's not obvious. I'll do separate interviews for each character requested.

I'll format the articles like those celebrity interviews in things like "Time" magazine ("20 Questions for..."), or the Parade's Sunday supplement "In Step With..." and include your handle and city/state/country below the question just like in those articles, so please sign your questions with that information.

I'll give this one week. You have until September 6, 2008 to post your questions in the Comments to this blog. I'll write the response "article" and have it up by September 13 here on my website and on my mailing list.

"Real life is sometimes messy, and sometimes things take longer than the length of a TV episode to resolve." - author Bett Norris, in a 5-star review about "Turning Point"

new interview posted

I participated in an interview at Joyce Anthony's Books and Authors blog:
http://joyceanthony.tripod.com/blog

I talk a little bit about why and how I write, and tell a very embarrassing story of my youth. So head on over and read. Feel free to share the link, or post follow up questions in the comments.
